We understand that it is
very often an order winning criteria for our customer's product to
deliver very quickly. This requires saving time at all stages in the
supply chain including the procurement of component parts. The two
main solutions are for us to make to order in the volumes required
or to hold stock supplying small quantities but having manufactured
in the most economical batch size. Contact Us
for help with supplying you on short lead times.

Make
to Order In this case there is no need to risk ordering
more parts than actually needed at a particular time. We
offer unusually short lead times through policies of
material stock holding, thorough scheduling, 24 hour
working when appropriate, minimising work in progress and
a work force culture that understands the benefit to
everyone of being flexible in the hours worked and getting
work out on time. See the Production
Racing Car Component Case Study.
Kanban
It makes great sense for a product manufacturer to only have minimum
stock of components on site whilst also being able to call upon
further supplies of parts at short notice. It is also important to
manufacture parts in the most economic batch quantities. All these
criteria can be met if the manufacturer places an order with us for
say an estimated 3 to 6 months worth of components but does not take
delivery until needed. Some manufacturers actually fax to us their
internal shop floor assembly Kanban card indicating that we must
deliver parts within a few days.
